The Hand of Sod

by Suw on May 25, 2005

Why is it that the night you really want to have good night's sleep, because you have to get up early the next day to go to London, is always the night you toss and turn and wake up too early and can't get back to sleep?
I made the mistake of giving in to chocolate fudge cake last night. I shouldn't have. Now I ache from head to foot, as if whilst I was sleeping someone had given me a good going over with a cricket bat.
And the dreams. Oh god, the dreams. Every single dream was basically the same. All about the same thing. Message to my subconscious: Yes, ok, ok, I get it. Now shut up!
Can I go back to bed now, please? No? Damn.
Anyway, off to London today, back on Saturday probably. Lots of meetings. Wish me luck.

Whoa whoa whoa now hold on just one minute: giving in to chocolate fudge cake is *never* a mistake! Who ever gave you the idea that it was?

My stomach.

Chocolate fudge cake is *not* a mistake.
However, cheese and onion pasties are.

This happens to me too. Based on other people on The Tube, I think London doesn't allow anyone who isn't completely knackered.

god. cake does that to you? i think you should do some chocolate cake experimenting, and find one that is nice in the morning, as well as the night before…

I think the problem is that you didn't have Vodka with the cake, I mean it's in the title of your blog for pete's sake. 😉

Eep, never the chocolate. Now banana taffy…there's a tummy ache.

actually, i have a confession to make. I can't eat chocolate. I shouldn't eat chocolate, rather. It makes me ill. It's not so bad now, but too much or the wrong sort makes me terribly sick. Can't eat ice-cream or non-cooked dairy for the same reason. So I usually never do desserts. That's why me giving in and having chocolate fudge cake was unusual, and why i paid for it the next day.

If it is any consolation, I gave up smoking earlier this week so I am now tense, fidgety, drinking far too much coffee, unable to sleep and ravenously hungry all the time.
Of course, this initiative could go out the window the moment I enter a pub for a few bevvies. We will have to wait and see.

Suw, Suw, what are we to do.
Will the major lead of today's Blogosphere Bulletin be that Suw Charman has been outed — and by none other than herself? Will the copy below the scroll give us the gossipy details that in a show of contrition Suw is now changing the name of her blog to “vodkastraight.blogware.com”? What new vices shall Suw now wish us to believe she has? But, how shall we believe again, when months hence it may appear once more that Suw is without spot or blemish despite what she may say today.
Oh, Suw, what are we to do!
