Well, their time is up, and 24hdc have finally put Dozomo up for sale on eBay, as they promised they would. It needs to sell for 1000 Euros to break even, and it has three days in which to do so.
The final site is kinda cool, allowing you to search a bunch of services, including Google, Technorati and IMDB, all from one screen. You also have a plug-in for your browser so you don't even need to visit the dozomo site.
All in all, they've done a great job getting this up and running in just 24 hours. Makes the 15 month development of Kinja look really tardy.

I saw the app they developed. Guess what? You can already do this in the Opea browser! Type g “search term” to search in Google, e for Ebay, z for Amazon. It's like doing a PhD dissertation without doing a search for previous work in a field, and re-doing what somebody else did decades ago.
What a bunch of hypester idiots. Truly reminiscent of the dot-com losers, actually, so in a way I think they did succeed
Heh, well, if they manage to sell it for a grand or more, then they'll have doubly emulated past dotcommers by selling something old dressed up as something new.
I had kinda hoped that we'd see more of the process on the blog, as that would have been more interesting. Sadly not, though.
Aparently 24hours wasn't long enough to build in security… the engines list (linked in this post) page has been hacked and the goatse.cx man has made an appearance on that page as of 7pm CDT.
