Since I started reading blogs, I have learnt a lot. I've had my horizons widened in ways I wouldn't have thought possible, and usually without even realising it. Blogs are like a hive mind – all the little bits of information synergistically coming together like bees in a virtual meta-hive-brain. And it's in this spirit of sharing wisdom and information that I'd like to share with you this small nugget of gold, learnt last night.
After a considerable period of cooking on electric, when you move over to gas it is wise to remember to use the little inbuilt sparker to light the gas as soon as you turn it on. Waiting for it to light by itself and then belatedly pushing the sparker button will result in a great big whumph of flame as the pooled gas ignites, taking the majority of the hair from the back of your hand with it, and your eyebrows if you're not lucky.
Hmmm what are you cooking? Is that the delicious smell of singed human hair hanging in the air?
