Whatever this is, it must be good coz I got a 'Forbidden Access' screen telling me I am not authorised to view the file.

Some real hot shit?

You can't access it? How bizarre. Hm. I don't like nicking other people's hard work, but well…

Ha! I've just crawled into the office, I have a bit of a sore throat and I am slightly pissed off about… er… a certain situation, and this gave me a much needed chuckle.

Thanks, Doll.

Ah, don't let any situations piss you off. It's not worth it. 🙂

But you know how, er, certain kinds of situations can lodge in your head and refuse to budge.

But I shall try not to let it piss me off.

oh, yeah, i understand that entirely, but some days you just have to make a decision to park whatever's bugging you on the backburner and say 'sod it. not worth it. next!'

Happiness isn't a state of mind, after all. it's a decision.

You are right, up to a point (one could argue that happiness is the circulation of healthy amounts of serotonin around the brain).

But yes, mustn't dwell on the shitty situations. On the plus side, this situation is fuelling the bile, cynicism and misanthropy I require to write my book as it should be (i.e. dark and full of rage) and seeing as I actually managed to make some progress on it last night, it must be working.

Yes, but you can't ignore the brain/body feedback loop. Tell yourself you're happy and eventually your brain will start to release serotonin and you'll become happy.

Glad to hear you're writing, but careful with the misanthropy. It gets tiring after a while.

Steve Kane January 14, 2004 at 1:11 pm

Are you kidding? I thrive on misanthropy.

It is when I cut people some slack and start to think that they are OK and that I have been too harsh on my fellow men (and women) that it all goes horribly wrong.

I'm such a people person.
