I thought small, three year old nieces who are ill with a temperature and croaky voice were supposed to sit quietly on the sofa, snoozing or possibly watching appropriately gentle cartoons, not bouncing up and down on my lap whilst I'm trying to work around them, persistently asking 'Why?' to everything I say whilst plastering their sticky fingers all over my monitor.
Obviously I deserve to be roundly and soundly disabused of this fallacious notion, so my niece is probably doing me a favour in the long run.

I've just finished proofreading the 42 Welsh worksheets that will go on the new Get Fluent CD-ROM. That's a chore I'm happy to see the back of. All I have to do now is finish preparing the other files I need and it's ready to rock and roll.
I will be so glad to get copies of these CD-ROMs out to all the Get Fluent subscribers, and to get it up in the web shop for anyone else who wants to buy it. It's a very long and tedious job, tidying up all the mess left by the collapse of Get Fluent, and this is a major step on the way. Once this is done, once I've had a few people buy the whole course, then I can settle up with those subscribers who need refunds. Then that only leaves sorting out all the t-shirt stock we've got and need to get rid of, and sorting out the creditors.
Ha.
“Only.”
I still have no idea where I'm going to find the thousands I need to do that last little task, but what else can I do except what I'm doing? I have nothing but the shirt on my back and a bloody great big credit card bill. I can't magic up some money from nowhere, more's the pity, I can only try to eat away at all the debt, bit by bit, until it's gone. It might take me forever, and people might lose patience with me in the meantime, but it's that or throw myself on the mercy of the personal bankruptcy lion and I'm not willing to take that route right now.
The longest journey begins with a single step, but to finish it all you need to do is keep walking.
