I missed a day yesterday, because my choice was either do a sketch or talk to my husband who’s away for five weeks, and to be honest it really wasn’t a hard choice to make. So today, you get two day’s worth of sketches!
The obvious problems with cats is that you either draw them sleeping or you draw them quickly.
And when they’re asleep then tend to look like they’re basically a bag of fur filled with Play-Doh.
So I woke Grabbity up, and then bribed her and Mewton with treats, though they frequently didn’t stay in one pose long enough to be useful.
I clearly need to work on the whole faces thing.
I think this is the first challenge where I feel like I’m really, really shit at it, and I honestly don’t see how this is going to improve even over 30 days. I’ve not had any art classes since school, and though I used to draw a lot in my teens and early 20s, I always more of a copyist than someone who drew from life. So I have no technique, and frankly cats are actually fucking hard to draw. Still, I’ve started, so I’ll finish.
