I was talking to GT last night about going to the BlogTalk 2.0 conference in Vienna in July. It's affordable in terms of registration, and it would be deeply cool to go and network with interesting blogger people. Somewhere in the back of my head, a small voice is screaming that I might not actually be able to afford the flights and hotel come July, but what the hell, I'll register anyway.
Anyone else going?
I'll submit a paper. If they accept me as a speaker, I'll attend; if not, I won't. However, I will be available for the social parts, so keep in touch.
Austrian Airlines will get you from London to Vienna and back for as little as EUR 110 if you book well in advance on their website. I also know a couple of basic hotels with single rooms starting at EUR 45 per night.

Ooh cool! I hope they do accept you as a speaker, cos that'd be cool. Maciej Ceglowski may be speaking, and Gary Turner might be going too. I'm trying to persuade Thomas Vincent to go – more the merrier after all.
Cheers for the link. I'll have to check RyanAir out too, it being easier to book in English for me. 😉 I'll give you a yell about hotels and stuff though.
And yes, we must meet up for a drink. If i can I'll come a bit early and leave a bit late as i've never been to Vienna before so it would be nice to take in a bit more than just the conf.
For the English version of the AUA site, try http://www.aua.com/at/eng/default.htm.
Ryanair is no longer flying to Vienna. Their closest destinations are Linz (1:50 hours by train, approx. EUR 24 one-way) or Graz (2:30 hours by train, EUR 28 one-way).
