Yesterday I got the news that crw, my better half, has got the job he applied for at Six Apart. He starts working there as a Software Engineer on 1 March, so has to get all his stuff together and move across the country from Rochester NY to San Francisco before then. It's a big move, and it'll probably be stressful, but it is so going to be worth it.
I am so very happy and very proud. I am so delighted that the Trotts saw sense and hired one of the most intelligent, imaginative and genuinely lovely people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. </saccharine>
I'm just glad that 6A are in California and not Alaska cos I've been dying for a holiday in the sun for some time now.

Congratulation! To both you and crw (I've just noticed that if you turn crw around you get World Rally Championship) – if that's not an omen, I don't know what is.
That said, I've just looked at the Six Apart website and the photos of the founders and you do realise that this Ben Trott is clearly only fourteen year of age? Are you sure his parents know he's running this company? What's going to happen when he finishes High School and decides to go to College?

Suw, Mark Twain said that the coldest day he ever spent was in June in San Francisco. Summer in San Francisco comes in October, and June and July are usually cold. But it is only a short drive out of the city to warmer places. A great city to visit. Sam
I'm still giggling that part of the recruitment process was an IM conversation with Ben. Would that any of my clients were any way near that cool (ok some of you are…..nearly)
