New Year is always a bit of a weird time, as the expectation of a great party usually gives way to the reality of staying in, in front of the computer, and wondering why it was I couldn't get my act together yet again. But this year my New Year's Eve was just about as perfect as you could get. A meal, some champagne (actually, the best champagne I've ever had the good fortune to taste, Larmandier-Bernier), some champagne truffles and a glass of white port to toast the New Year. Simple, but wonderful.
I hope you all have a prosperous 2006, that the year gives you both what you want and what you need, that all the painful change that seemed so prevalent in 2005 was the paving of the way to a fruitful, satisfying, successful and enjoyable year this year. May the universe be good to you.
