Tamizdat

More for my own benefit than anything, a link to Tamizdat, a website selling music from central and eastern Europe, including Poland. Hoping it will become a source of good Polish music, once I get the time to sit down and look through it.

I suppose I should learn a bit of Polish. We've got a Polish cleaning lady. She speaks german, but it's a bit… Idiosyncratic, to say the least. Especially when she leaves notes for us. They're in german, but with a Polish phonetic spelling. It took us a while to work out that she wanted us to buy more kitchen roll and toilet duck (Toiletten Ente, in case you're wondering)…

What did you have in mind as far as Polish music goes? Rousing peasant folk songs? Chanson-style pop music? Or more contemporary music? (From what I hear, hip-hop and heavy metal dominate music in Poland these days.)
