My condolences, Suw. As is readily apparent from my own blog, we know what you're going through.

So sorry to hear this, Suw. When my baby kitty, Ringo died a year ago (quickly, too), I was devastated. I know how special these furry friends become to us…

Thank you all for your kindness.
I remember Cleo fondly, the way she was terrified of you when you were standing up but was affectionate and friendly if you were lying down, the way she used to try to either insert herself up a nostril or tickle my nose with the very tip of her tail whilst I was trying to sleep, and the way she would look insulted when I called her Lardycakes. She was very much loved, and lived the kind of life all cats aspire to, one of sitting on the windowsill in the sun, and never being bothered much by anyone or anything. (You couldn't easily bother her, she was the mistress of all places hidden and unreachable.)
All cats end up in the catty afterlife, or possibly reincarnated as a tiger or lion, and at least I know she was very well cared for whilst she was alive.
