Vilest-sounding cocktail ever

by Suw on October 21, 2005

From the cocktail menu at a restaurant called 718, in Astoria, New York:

Kevin Martini: Stoli vodka, olive juice, olives with blue cheese

Frankly, that sounds quite disgusting.

That's not a cocktail, that's a greek salad.

I do resent the naming there. While I do like olives, blue cheese, and vodka, liking things doesn't mean they belong in the same glass, as you know:

That really does sound gross….at least we know you won't be re-naming this blog “Cheese and Vodka”

I have another contender for you. “The Effluent”
1 Shot Baileys
1 Shot Bourbon
Coke
Served in a tumbler with or without Ice. Add shot of Baileys. Add shot of Bourbon (I prefer Jack) and top up with Coke.
Tastes good, looks like Sh*t

As opposed to this one, which looks like shit and tastes like shit too.

You tried it?

I know it sounds gross, but it is actually very good. The requirement is that you like Dirty Martinis – the ones where they pour olive juice into the drink, and that you enjoy blue cheese. Then they stuff a green olive with blue cheese before they put it in the drink, the cheese melts into the drink slowly.

Everything in that drink sounds good but the bleu cheese.
