New improved Plan

by Suw on August 20, 2005

Includes place to live.
Wasn't going to blog this, because I didn't want to count my chickens before they are hatched, but I have found somewhere to live. Come the end of September, all things going well, I shall cease my nomadic wanderings and will settle into a really nice room in a flat in London, which I shall be sharing with a friend of mine. This will put me on hand for all the digital rights stuff I'm up to, as well as locating me closer to future clients and near(-ish) to a nice international airport.
Almost seems too good to be true, so please keep your fingers crossed. It's been two years that I've been taking up space in various people's spare rooms (thank you all! I'd've been stuck without you!), and I really do feel it's time for me to stay in one place longer than a few weeks, and to stop living out of a suitcase.
I look forward to having a bit of stability. Although virtually the first thing I'll be doing as soon as I'm settled will be getting on a plane to America. Oh, the irony.

Suw, you have been living as a nomad in a sedentary world. As you settle and once again put down more permanent roots, you are proving what history has taught from Genghis Khan to the Vikings to the Arabs … In a conflict beteen a. Nomadic culture and a sedentary one, the nomads will likely win.
But then they cannot “maintain” Their victory, without becoming more sedentary themselves.
Enjoy living in London, and don't despair the freedom and flexibility you give up for the benefits of deeper set roots.
