You know your taste in men is b0rked when

You find yourself saying “Yeah, but he looks really hot in armour”.
Ok. So. Armour. Or skirts. That narrows down the field a bit.

I think it's just normal. Judging from experience unexpected, to be polite, taste is the norm now. Just not everyone admits it.

'coward'? Is that me, or your sig? 😉
I remember once seeing this guy in London dressed in the most exquisite long deep red skirt. He was wearing a black jacket and had short, jet black hair, and he looked totally divine. Truly, a vision.
Around then I'd also become aware that clients were reading my blog, and oh, the angst I felt about whether or not I should blog about my penchant for men in skirts. I still worry that it's possibly not a wise thing to do, but it's a bit late now, as everyone seems to know anyway.

Hmmm…
That suddenly puts a certain pub discussion we had a while back into some form of perspective…

More straight men should wear skirts. Really. It's a very good move. Chicks dig it.

So you prefer your men tinned, nothing wrong with that. The problem is finding the right tin opener.
Not sure about the skirts thing though. My thing is long haired men shredding the living daylights out of a Les Paul, ESP or Ibanez – I don't think skirts would add to the mix all that well (I bet Steve Vai's tried it though).
So presumably you'd like the Shaun of the Dead sequel to take place in Medieval England?

Sorry for the doublepost…

It is puzzling to me that so many women go bonkers over men in kilts, but they are relucant to have their men wear skirts. Since kilts are so expensive it would be much better for everyone if society would let us wear skirts (long or short) for casual and evening wear. Sarongs are nice, but I still haven't figured out how to tie them so that they stay tied. Since no one objects when I wear my kilt, I have decided to wear skirts more often. Could someone tell me what the difference is? Sam

Because kilts are traditional male garments, and skirts are female. The women who go nuts over kilts wish they could go nuts over skirts but are too chickenshit to do so, because men in skirts are outside of what they consider to be acceptible cultural norms. Thus kilts are seen as manly and skirts seen as effeminate, even though it takes a man damn sure of his own masculinity to wear a skirt in public.
Sarongs are a bit odd in this respect, as they are traditional male garments in some places, but not here, so people don't quite know what to think of them. And yes, they are a bit of a bugger to knot properly and securely.
Personally, I think you should wear whatever you like, be it kilt, skirt or sarong. Equal clothing rights for all, as Eddie Izzard says.

I should imagine that a flash of shoulder might work as a good tin opener. 😉
As for Shaun of the Dead, the next film by that lot will be Hot Fuzz, based on all the crappy cop films you've ever seen. However, the one after that should either be set in medieval times, or Fiji.

my sig, as much as I fancy skirts, sarongs and other similar attire, I think I'm not a man enough to put them on, at least in puplic.
But I agree, there's a need to liberate the dress sence of the modern man. Picture a geek, “codito ergo sum” t-shirt, summer flowers skirt and sandals. Ain't that a picture to remember.

And you know your taste is b0rged when you find yourself thinking “he'd look really hot with a big cable jacked into his optic nerve and a couple of direct neural interfaces and pasty white skin and a burning desire to assimilate the galaxy”
