And the snotfest begins

by Suw on December 23, 2003

My sinuses feel like they've been forcibly rammed full of mucous, which is now exiting my head through my right nostril only, in big green clots. My nose is burning. My head aches. Everytime I swallow my ears go 'clunk' as if bubbles are popping inside my head. Worse than that, everything tastes of snot. It's foul.

Now, I know you didn't need me to blog that, but share and share alike, I say, particularly during the festive season.

Suw, you really are the mistress of the descriptive turn of phrase, aren't you? I feel like I'm actually there listening to your snot bubble in person. *makes you a lempsip & tucks you up in bed*

Aw thanks babe. I'm feeling a bit better today, although still stuffed full of snot on my right-hand side. Dunno why my left sinus is getting away scot free… maybe it's just waiting for the opportune moment.

But you know, I feel it's important to communicate minutia such as this. One day, when we've got an immunisation against the common cold, it will stand as an important record and reminder of our less fortunate past for those who never had to suffer.

Can you imagine never having had to expell a large, green stringy clot of snot through your nostril? The future world would miss out if I didn't blog this, I tell you.

Better through your nose than coughing one up though.

I think you're right. This experience should be preserved for posterity. “Aye, back when I was a lass, Suwsgranddaughter, we made snot THIS big!”

Yeah, I'm none to keen on the coughing variety, although sometimes that's the only way.

Maybe I should get my digital camera ready for the next really hefty one. You know, just to enhance the experience for my blog readers.

Would your average computer monitor really do justice to that puke-inducing yellowy-green of a big, juicy bogey though? You might need to try a short movie, just to demostrate the stickiness properly.

Hey Suw, do you feel like you've regressed to age 8 writing about snot in this manner?

Yeah, I can do movies with my digital camera too… Now there's a thought!

And… regressed? Hm, that would tend to imply that I grew up in the first place…
