Amazon can't count

by Suw on November 19, 2003

On 17 Nov I ordered a book from Amazon which, according to its product description would be despatched 'within 7 to 8 days', yet my confirmation email tells me that it will be delivered between Nov 29 and Dec 7. Either Amazon can't count, or someone's cancelled nearly two weeks of this year and not told me. Now if those deleted days just happen to be weekdays and don't cover my trip to Leeds, I might find myself able to turn a blind eye, but if they interfer with my going to see Revolutions I shall be well miffed. (Even if all current indications do point to it being a crap film. The most damning review of it that I've read so far said simply 'Revolutions. Hmm…' Oh dear.)

Anyway. Amazon. Pfft. Buy a calculator, guys, or learn how to take your shoes off.

I haven't seen Revolutions.

But it is my experience that films damned by people around me turn out to be quite nice films. I think a lot of people just don't “get it” – and an equal number “saying-nay” because it's so hip 'n trendy.

Amazon cant count.
Don't pry it out of me…

And I don't even buy there!

no, it is crap.

i loved reloaded cos it was like an extravagent two-hour cliffhanger full of riddles. the story was so stretched and spacious for ur own imagination, especially the architect/how there had been a dozen matrixes already — now THAT is a good twist. creative and sophisticated. for me, the first 2 films had imagination and emotion and philosophical substance. and you just really wanna find out what happens next.

after reloaded, i read a few ppls' theories about the film and ideas of how the story should end (at IMDB). they were brilliant. cos reloaded made it seem possible that there would be this really imaginative ending, something not many ppl would think of.

but god it was awful.. i mean yeah, teenie boppers probably didnt get it, but the story itself is a whole lot of crap! it could have been much much much better. i will stick to my own ending.

if you get bored playing videos games urself, go watch the wachowski play.

Well… I've been trying to avoid reviews of Revolutions because I don't want to prejudice myself. I really enjoyed Reloaded, partly, I'm sure, because i expected it to be utter cack. I'm hoping that when I go and see Revolutions if I expect it to be utter cack again, I might be pleasantly surprised.

The more I hear about it, though, the more i doubt that this might work, but it's only a week and a bit away now, so I'm not going to get too wound up about it.

I suppose that enjoying bits will be better than not enjoying any of it. Fingers crossed, eh? 😉
