Who knows?

Back in August I submitted my script to the Zoetrope Screenplay Contest. I then forgot about it. A few days ago I remembered that the winners will be announced on 1 Feb. I don't really think I stand that much of a chance of winning - my script is very British and there's a reason […]

Chwarae teg

Mae Nic wedi dechrau defnyddio Flickr, ac mae popeth yn y Gymraeg. Lluniau neis iawn, Nic. Diolch am rannu!
Ond… Dw i newydd gweld oedd Nic yn arfer byw yn Cathays Terrace, c. 93. O'n i'n arfer byw yn Cathays Terrace, c. 93, hefyd. Spŵci.

Another set of blog awards I haven't been nominated for

The Satin Pajama Awards.
I think I could turn this into a series.

A glimpse of the past

I made this about a year and a half ago. Oddly, I still seem to be having trouble with the financial settings, but otherwise I seem to have troubleshot (troubleshooted?) my life quite successfully.
Funny how things going horribly wrong can sometimes turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you.

Keen Eddie

Whilst we were in Boston, staying at Itamar's, crw and I watched a few episodes of a series called Keen Eddie, a show about an American detective on secondment to the Metropolitan Police. Now, whilst I have to admit that any show that can crowbar in repeated references to Duran Duran has my vote, enjoying […]

Tagiau Technorati

Pan o'n i yn Boston, o'n i'n lwcus i gyfarfod â Dave Sifry o Technorati, ac o'n ni'n siarad am betha fel y tagiau newydd Technorati sy'n cael ei ddefnyddio ar flogiau i helpu bobl darganfod postiau am yr un pwnc (yn Technorati wrth gwrs). Roedd Dave yn dweud wrtha i am ddyn o Iwerddon […]

Ebost o bobl Draig

Ces i'r ebost 'ma heddiw. O'n i'n meddwl efallai bydd o'n cael diddordeb i chi gyd os dach chi'n defnyddio To Bach, neu eisiau defnyddio Windows yn y Gymraeg.
Annwyl Ddefnyddiwr To Bach,
Mae dros 6 mis wedi mynd heibio bellach ers i ni ryddhau’r gwasanaeth ‘To Bach’. Diolch i bawb sydd wedi’i lwytho i lawr ac […]

Conform in your browser/OS choice, or be arrested

Use a non-standard browser and operating system to donate to the tsunami relief effort and get yourself arrested by the London police.
If BoingBoing are right that all this guy was doing was simply donating money using the Lynx browser on a Sun Solaris system, then he can so nail the rozzers for wrongful arrest. I […]

Boston photos up on Flickr

Photographic evidence of my Boston trip, including lunch with Frank, Betsy, Joey, Wendy and Chris:

Me, with eyes to match my top, and Chris:

And snow. Lots of snow:

The red line of death

Just before Christmas I blogged about how my PowerBook, affectionately known as the 'interim solution', had developed a green line on the screen. Having asked around and actually had my qualified Apple engineer friend Gerard take a poke about inside the screen, it was ascertained that the line probably could not be easily fixed. Well, […]

Remove brain before opening wallet

Gullible Americans are spending $299 on a plastic sticker that purports to save petrol and clean exhaust fumes by sending “holographic frequencies into the gas tank and chang[ing] the molecular structure of the gasoline.” Ah, too precious.
Cheaper at only $16, but no less full of hogwash, is the Machina Dynamica Golden Sound Intelligent Chip, which […]

Links!

Just clearing out some tabs whilst I try to wake up:

Beach animals! Cool! The Animaris Rhinoceros Transport movie is ace.
Chocolate solar system! Yum! (Via BoingBoing.)
The Bloggies site is down at the moment, but apparently I was nominated in the Best UK/European Blog category (thanks Betsy!). I believe it is traditional for me to now beg […]

Taking the rest of the day off

Back, bathed and bloody knackered. Nineteen hours door to door. Think I need a snooze. Sleeping on the plane may keep one from passing out later on, but it's not exactly restful.

Waiting

Unsurprisingly, my flight back to London has been delayed by an hour, so I thought I'd stump up for the wifi and play online for a bit. Kills time faster than reading, I tend to find. At least they have wifi here at the gates which is a blessing.
Was a delight to meet up with […]

Snow emergency!

Well, here I am in Boston, snowed up to the eyeballs. Almost literally. We had a snowstorm last night which dumped about two foot of snow over most of the eastern seaboard of America, including here in Boston. Once the snowploughs have been round, though, it piles up to four or five foot on the […]
